LATE SEASON 50 MILES SUNDAY 30th SEPEMBER 2018
Our final open event for 2018 is the Late Season 50 miles on Sunday 30th September 2018. It starts at 9.30am from The Swan in West Street, Alresford and finishes at The Cricketers, Jacklyns Lane, Alresford. The times limits are generous, with a maximum of 5½ hrs and a minimum of 3¼ hrs.
The entry fee is £4 and includes a free coffee/tea at The Swan before the start. You can enter either on the day or online using PayPal.
The route is undulating and is mainly on minor roads. A detailed route description and gpx files are available to download.
The route has been re-ridden and checked. We have also checked the distances using online mapping.
Some of the road surfaces in East Hampshire are poor, with potholes and gravel. We recommend that Garmin users also look at the written route description as it highlights some of the potential hazards.
You can enter on the day or in advance.
To enter on day: Download entry form, route sheet and gpx. Bring completed form and payment to start.
The following files are available to download below
- Entry form – pdf or Word
- Route Sheet - pdf or Word
- Gpx file for route
- Route profile
Note: GPX Download Instructions for Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Internet Explorer etc..
Right click "Download File" and choose "Save target as..." or "Save Link as" - don't just click on the file - you are trying to save the file rather than opening it!.
Workaround for Edge and Internet Explorer: If you are using Microsoft Edge or Internet Explorer, you may experience difficulty in downloading the gpx file.
Right click "Download File" and choose "Save target as..."
If you are offered the choice to Save as Type GPX - just save it.
However if the dialog wants you to save it as an xml file then you will need to change this:.
Click in the File Name: box (Not the Save as type: box). It should be editable.
Change the 3 letters after the dot from "xml" to "gpx". No quotation marks. Do not remove the dot.
Do nothing to the Save as type: box.
